The Director of Maintenance and Engineering is responsible for the overall maintenance of several different properties. Ultimately addresses issues with maintenance staff, housekeeping, life support, security/first aid, and grounds staff. The Director will develop relationships with outside vendors to ensure that ongoing maintenance of working systems is not ignored. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Functions & Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:
•Follow all safety procedures including wearing protective eyewear and using lock out/tag out guidelines and encouraging coworkers to do the same.
•Conduct safety training for all departments needing Lockout/Tagout, Lift Operation, Forklift, Cranes/hoists, Golf cart, and/or confined space training.
•Conduct interviews, hire, develop, and lead employees as necessary.
•Act as project manager for all projects including creating contracts with scope of work, take bids, hire contractor(s) and sub-contractor(s).
•Coordinate projects & schedules, keeping work orders current and keeping crewmembers busy.
•Create budgets and work within their constraints.
•Maintain accurate information both manually and / or computerized regarding upcoming projects, completed projects & in-process projects.
•Maintain inventory and maintenance records for all Operations supplies & equipment.
•Input all information into maintenance program as needed.
•Schedule all Operations/Housekeeping employees based on coverage and upcoming projects, taking requests into consideration when possible.
•Maintaining work areas in a neat and orderly fashion and putting all tools away in their proper place at the end of each shift.
•Maintaining a positive attitude and being a team player.
•Communicate with and support General Manager and coworkers as needed.
•Perform weekly checks of the entire building.
•Complete LSS rounds as needed.
•Follow proper procedures for starting up & shutting down the building as needed.
•Immediate attention to damaged items in the public areas

Skills & Experience

Education & Experience

5-10 experience in Lead Maintenance and Engineering supervision, preferably in an Attractions/Amusement setting.
•Degree in Business Administration, Business Development or related field is required.
•Strong supervisory skills, especially with department levels of 20-40 people.
•Articulate, organized and well-spoken.
