Life Support Systems Technician
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all large scale LSS on the Loggerhead Marinelife Center campus. The LLS Technician also assists the animal care team as needed with respect to modifications and additions regarding the small scale, self-standing LSS packages.

Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of life support systems and water quality parameters for aquatic species.
Must have keen observation skills and be highly detail-oriented and adept at problem solving.
Skill in organizing resources and maintaining priorities.
Ability to construct and operate LSS, including plumbing and carpentry.
Knowledge in mechanical and electrical repair work.
Ability to work collaboratively to implement facility and departmental goals.
Ability to follow laws and regulations relating to the care of wildlife in accordance with facility and industry best practices.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required. Associates or technical degree in related fields are desirable.
Previous experience in life support operation at an aquarium or zoo through volunteer work, internships or a full-time position (work in an AZA accredited facility is preferred). Wastewater facility experience is also welcome.
