Pump Shop Supervisor

As a Water Quality Supervisor, you’ll lead a dedicated, skilled team in ensuring the production of quality water for our life support systems and water treatment facilities. In your role, you will help us consistently deliver the highest standards of guest service and animal care. You will:
- Maintain the preventative maintenance, repair and replacement program of approximately 4,000 pumps in all 3 parks
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors that provide service and parts for all different types of pumps
- Maintain and manage proper inventory and ordering of materials to ensure smooth operation of the department
- Responsible for oversight of labor allocation including, but not limited to, maintaining weekly ambassador schedules, ensuring compliance with posted schedules, educating ambassadors about time management and Seaport navigation
- Maintain and provide support to the Water Quality Leader for budget control
Effectively communicate with the team and maintain positive and motivating department morale - Responsible for ensuring team is trained and prepared to respond to emergency procedures; accountable for informing senior leadership of any emergency, employee issue, and/or injury/incident
- Responsible for transitioning and training of new hires into the department as well as coaching opportunities for current ambassadors
- Assist and interact with other departments as required
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
- Must be able to train on and properly use protective gear
- Must be comfortable working around fumes/dust/odor
- Must be comfortable working around chemicals
- Must be able to train on and properly use protective gear
- Must be available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours; i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts
Other Duties & Responsibilities
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have fluent knowledge of fluid hydraulics, advanced water treatment processes, mechanical pipe fitting principles and practices
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have completed centrifugal pump course and possess basic hydraulic knowledge
- Must be able to complete provided CPR training/certification
Skills & Experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Possession of a valid state driver’s license preferred
- Aquatic Certified Pool Operators certificate or an Aquatic Facilities Operators certificate preferred
Crane certification, forklift certification, high reach certification and rigging experience preferred
Education & Experience
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a minimum 5 years’ experience working with various pumps, pump repair and pump maintenance
- Must have a minimum 2 years’ of leadership experience in Water Quality or similar Maintenance Shop
