Our Water Sciences team is looking for a Water Sciences Operations Manager. In this role, your primary responsibility will be the day-to-day leadership and management of the frontline Water Sciences Operations Technicians and Water Sciences Dive Technicians. You will be responsible for aspects of the coordination and function of the multiple specialty water treatment operations and problem resolutions that make up the Walt Disney World Animal Programs Water Sciences Systems. You will also ensure adherence to strict water quality guidelines.

In this role, you will report to the Water Sciences Senior Operations Manager.

Functions & Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Day to day checks/operations of the water filtration and disinfection equipment
Personnel management of both Water Sciences technicians as well as Dive technicians
Water quality analysis
Testing of critical Water Sciences components
Monitoring of Water Sciences filtration automation and trending of critical water treatment parameters

Other Duties & Responsibilities

Scheduling of system outages to ensure minimal downtime and monitoring of animal habitats while systems are offline
Scheduling of staff to ensure 24-hour monitoring of Life Support system

Skills & Experience

Knowledge & Skills

Documented experience in the operation of and application of specialized water treatment systems
Proven ability to supervise and lead technical personnel
In depth knowledge of Water Sciences / Life Support systems design and function
Understanding of applied water chemistry principles
Understanding of filtration, disinfection, and water distribution processes
Understanding of and ability to use computer automation and controls
Ability to read technical drawings/schematics
Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite software (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Expert problem analysis/ resolution skills
A combination of Education and Industry Experience totaling 3 years minimum
Work Scheduling methods experience
Proven ability to work in a Team environment
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work well across multiple professional disciplines

Education & Experience

A combination of Education and Industry Experience totaling 3 years minimum
High School Degree or equivalent

Your day will be a mix of time spent in the area as well as time at a desk.

Working Conditions

Time spent outside with your team and partners will be outside. This position could sometimes work 2nd and/or 3rd shift
