The AALSO Education and Training program (EaT) is aimed at providing continuing education for working Life Support and Water Quality professionals by offering instruction and testing for level 1 LSS operator and level 1 Water Quality certification to member facilities upon request. In addition, the AALSO EaT program provides guest lecturers to several college and university programs aimed at preparing students for a career in aquatic animal care. AALSO EaT program instructors are working level 3 LSS operators and/or designees of the AALSO Water Quality Certification committee.
The AALSO EaT program sends an Instructor to your facility to conduct training sessions covering the topics necessary for a basic working knowledge of the LSS and WQ field. This two-day program consists one day for instruction and one day for review and certification testing for level 1 LSS and level 1 Water Quality.

- Pumps, valves, and filtration components
- Disinfection and sterilization
- Basic WQ parameters

EaT for Colleges and Universities:
The AALSO EaT program provides a partnership for universities and colleges across America to promote education and training in aquatic animal life support and water quality. The AALSO EaT program sends working professionals as guest lecturers to participating programs to provide instruction in the fundamentals necessary for an entry level position in the LSS/WQ field. In addition, students enrolled in participating programs are given the opportunity to take the AALSO level 1 LSS certification test as part of their coursework.
