Life Support Systems Operator (Part-Time)
We are looking for an experienced individual who has a strong working knowledge related to the proper operation of all life support systems equipment. This position will ensure the delivery of an adequate supply of high-quality water to all habitat, animal holding, pool and fountain areas to include:
– Reporting, troubleshooting, and assisting with unusual conditions or mechanical problems that need to be addressed.
– Life support equipment including pumps, filtration systems, valves, ozone generating systems, Ultra-violet light systems, heating and cooling systems, and water testing.

A Plus…
Certification in Aquatic Animal Life Support Systems (AALSO).
Two (2) years of experience in an aquarium or zoo.
Education & Experience

Job Requirements
Physical Requirements
Ability to work outdoors and indoors under all environmental conditions and temperatures.
Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Ability to transport and move items, exerting at least 100 pounds of force occasionally, and or up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
Ability to ascend/ descend ladders, steps and uneven terrain, while maintaining body equilibrium while performing various jobs.
Exceptional visual acuity is required, along with the ability to communicate, comprehend and decipher/hear information accurately, using a two-way radio.
Must be able to remain on feet for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to operate motorized cart, trucks, hand and power tools.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities, including any construction site on foot.
Must possess visual and auditory acuity for safety, equipment alarms and discern differences in documents
Auditory ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, two-way radio, and face-to-face interactions.
Manual dexterity for standing, reaching, flexibility, and body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling, stoop, bend, lift, kneel, crawl, climb, jump, dig and prolonged standing.
